Moin, I'm Paul!
I've been developing software for over 5 years – from enterprise applications at Lexware and client projects at Team Neusta to my current work as a freelancer.
My focus is on modern web applications built with React, Next.js and TypeScript. For me, it's not just about writing good code, but about building solutions that work reliably and that people enjoy using.
I also love building things after hours. Besides web development, I'm fascinated by game development with Unity – which is how, among other things, my indie games database GUMDEX came to be.

In this project, large volumes of data were fetched from various sources, transformed, and subsequently written into a database for a web service. The web service exposed the data via a REST API. The goal of this nearly 2-year project was to develop a modern system based on a complex legacy Spring web application. A microservice architecture was chosen to improve load balancing and module interchangeability. The backend comprised over 20 services and was orchestrated using Docker Compose. The main complexity lay in a sophisticated, custom-built processing engine for exotic file formats and an adaptive matching logic. The frontend was structured as a micro-frontend architecture within an Nx workspace. The individual micro-frontends were implemented as Angular applications and utilized NgRx for state management.Gamified Donation Platform for a Recycling Initiative

My first independent project as a working student involved developing an MQTT client used on Raspberry Pis to collect operational data. The client simplifies and standardizes the process of accessing and reading the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins via MQTT within a network.
