About Me
Welcome to my profile!
My name is Paul Köpke, I am 29 years old, and I have been working in professional software development for over 5 years.
My core focus lies in modern frontend development using Next.js and React.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience working on various client projects at a digital agency, handling enterprise product development at Lexware, and working as a freelance software developer for the past 2 years.
I place great value on clean, easy-to-understand code, clear structures, and maintainable, comprehensively tested, high-performance solutions.
Thanks to my studies in Business Administration and Online Marketing, I bring a unique business and user perspective to the table alongside my technical skills.
In my free time, I also enjoy game development using Unity/C# and exploring the field of gamification.

Lübecker Marzipan e.V.
Complete redesign of the web presence using Figma and Astro as a static, SEO-optimized website.Services for a Custom ERP System
In 2024, I had the opportunity to contribute as a freelancer to a comprehensive IT restructuring project. A legacy system was replaced by a new, fully proprietary ERP system. I supported the project with C# backend services and a React frontend.Fullstack Payroll Web Application
Haufe-Lexware GmbH & Co. KG
At Haufe-Lexware, I worked within the payroll team on several Java/Spring Boot microservices as well as the Next.js frontend. It was particularly exciting due to the direct professional alignment with my previous business studies and the experience of running a live application with over 200,000 users.Digitalization of Forms for a Public Authority
team neusta / neusta GmbH
This project featured a C# backend with a custom-developed framework, where both the server logic and the templates for an authority's online forms were implemented.Nest.js ETL Data Pipeline
team neusta / neusta GmbH
In this project, large volumes of data were fetched from various sources, transformed, and subsequently written into a database for a web service. The web service exposed the data via a REST API. The project's challenges lay in the deep technical nature of the data and the complexity of the transformation process.Microservice Web Application for the Construction Industry
team neusta / neusta GmbH
The goal of this nearly 2-year project was to develop a modern system based on a complex legacy Spring web application. A microservice architecture was chosen to improve load balancing and module interchangeability. The backend comprised over 20 services and was orchestrated using Docker Compose. The main complexity lay in a sophisticated, custom-built processing engine for exotic file formats and an adaptive matching logic. The frontend was structured as a micro-frontend architecture within an Nx workspace. The individual micro-frontends were implemented as Angular applications and utilized NgRx for state management.Gamified Donation Platform for a Recycling Initiative
team neusta / neusta GmbH
In this project, an Angular frontend and a Spring Boot backend were developed for a voluntary recycling initiative. A particularly exciting aspect was the inclusion of numerous gamification elements designed to boost user motivation.Print Module for a Custom ERP System
PD Software GmbH
As a working student, I was responsible for the independent development of a print module for the company's proprietary ERP system. The module was implemented in Java and communicates with the ERP system via sockets.Raspberry Pi ODA Client
PD Software GmbH
My first independent project as a working student involved developing an MQTT client used on Raspberry Pis to collect operational data. The client simplifies and standardizes the process of accessing and reading the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins via MQTT within a network.
